Care Plan
Our care is aimed at improving your stability, function and performance. After thorough consultation and examination, your chiropractor will select a technique that is best suited to your condition.
We will prepare a schedule of visits designed to optimise your results. Your care plan will be determined by factors such as: age, severity and chronicity of injury, and your work and recreational activities. Our goal is to get you back to your best and reduce the risk of re-injury.
The following information gives a brief description of the stages of care.
The objective of this phase of care is to restore normal pain-free movement of the spine.
The intervals of your visits will be dependant on your pain levels and your ability to perform normal activities of daily living.
This phase usually lasts for 3 to 6 weeks.
The stabilisation phase is aimed at regaining strength and stability of your spine. This minimises the risk of recurrence of your injury and allows you to resume normal activities.
A typical schedule for this phase is weekly visits for two to four weeks, followed by fortnightly care for one or two months.
This phase of care is intended to improve and sustain your quality of life. Once you have regained optimum function, it is important to try to maintain that function for as long as possible.
We explain the philosophy of wellness care to all patients, but it is up to you to make the decision to continue with care. Wellness care may range from intervals of four to twelve weeks.
